The paleo what?!

I was recently introduced to the "paleo diet" by a friend and immediately rolled my eyes at the thought of another crazy diet for those crazy dieters out there. I stand corrected...so far.

I listened.
I bought the book.
I'd buy the T-shirt.
and now...
I blog.

On Sunday, April 1st (this is no joke) I went out and bought the book The Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson. My aunt would understand best when I say I'm the worst at describing books so I'm going to go ahead and briefly state what the back of the book tells us:

"The Primal Blueprint details the compelling premise that you can reprogram your genes in the direction of weight loss, health, and longevity by adapting the simple lifestyle practices of our hunter-gatherer ancestors into modern life."

Thus far, I've learned its much more complicated when I was first told, "the Primal Blueprint is more basic, get that one." I'm exaggerating slightly, it is pretty easy to follow when I go through the salad bar at Spangler Hall and think - would a cave man have access to this? The book, however, is teaching me about how your body stores energy, insulin levels, and other details about how your body reacts to different sorts of carbs, etc. I learn and absorb new information and material best by repeating and reteaching what I've been taught. So now, I blog to learn and also maybe share some interesting information.

Me hope you enjoy.
